Designer Rafael Peña studied Architecture in New York and Munich. He subsequently worked for a number of architectural practices in New York, London and Munich.
During this time, Rafael gained experience working on a broad spectrum of projects like the design of several Lofts in Manhattan or a high-end retail store located on the noble Maximilianstrasse in Munich. As a Project Architect, Rafael was able to see through the conception of two Cottages in Guildford, UK. Throughout this period his fascination and attention to detail grew to an obsession. Rafael would ultimately start experimenting with other design forms.
In London, Rafael met, and had intense interactions with young designers from diverse design fields like Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Furniture Design and Screen Printing. He attended Fashion shows, Furniture Fairs and Exhibitions and consequently began to materialize his own design ideas. In his work, Rafael finds a level of intimacy within scale and materiality and enables his ideas to come to fruition.
In late 2012 the Architect and Designer realized his first piece of furniture, FirstFour Dining Table. This lead to founding FourSides, his furniture brand.
